In mid-October, West Michigan Design Archives offered a sale of posters, books, other printed materials, amenities, and more, all to raise funds for the redevelopment of the archives website and other programs. Items eagerly perused by designers and students and admirers of design included Herman Miller picnic posters, John Massey prints, Eames House of Cards, photographs, vintage and new books (both well-designed and about design), a Peace Corps 10th anniversary poster, a Nelson Coconut chair, Vitra miniature products, and much, much more.

The event was generously hosted by Dean Van Dis Photography, whose studio proved a hospitable location for colleagues to reconnect and others to meet for the first time. This event was successful because of the volunteers who organized and managed the sale, and the many people who donated items of value to the design community. Thanks to everyone, including Lauren Andersh, John Berry, Leslie Black, Helen Bonzelaar, Marlene Capotosto, Steve Frykholm, Jon Henderson, Ellen Kent, Gini Knape, Barbara Loveland, Lois Maassen, Sharon and Chuck Olencziak, Jon O’Neill, Linda Powell, Kathy Stanton, and Kathy Vandevoren.
